ReFOCUS | Online Worship Conference

AUGUST 14, 15 2020

ReFocus conference is a conference dedicated to the study of worship, where we want to dive deeper into the subject and make sure we have a true understanding of what it means to live lives of continuous worship towards the Lord. We will be discussing worship in repentance, obedience, and in imagination.

Our three speakers will be tackling these subjects and hopefully, help us examine ourselves to make sure that we are truly living lives pleasing to God.

What is worship and what does it look like in the life of a believer?

August 14 (5 PM EDT; 2 PM PDT)

This session will lay a foundation for our discussion of worship. Today, when we say "worship," we instantly think of music. Reducing the word to simply  mean music is borderline heresy. Worship means much more than what cultural christianity is selling.

Worship that leads to repentance.

August 14 (6:15 PM EDT; 3:15 PDT)

Worship that approaches God casually loses sight of the fact that God is Holy. In our sincere desire to help others view God as approachable, we must not forget that God is holy, unlike us.

“It is time for evangelical churches to recover the biblical emphasis on the holiness of God because without such a vision of the burning holiness of God, worship loses its awe, the truth of His Word loses its ability to compel, obedience loses its virtue, and the church loses its moral authority.”

Worship as obedience.

August 15 (2PM EDT; 11 AM PDT)

If worship is meant to show our devotion and love to God, there is no other way to demonstrate our love for Christ, and to express our worship, but to obey his commandments.

God has given us a unique capacity to create.

August 15 (3:15 PM EDT; 12:15 PM PDT)

Worshiping God with our mind includes the imagination. This session will take a look at the importance of surrendering our imaginative capacity to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

The pastors will be live on Zoom after the session for a LIVE Q&A. Click this link to join the call when we start.
